Nico Garza is a senior at Coronado High school and is a starter on the Coronado Varsity Baseball team. Garza has been playing baseball for 15 years.
“My dad used to play in high school, so when I was little he taught me how to play and I have always just loved it,” Garza said.
Garza plays 3rd base and pitches for the Mustangs. Garza has played baseball at Coronado all four years and has made many memories each season.
“My favorite memory from all four years is pitching and winning our first playoff game last year. That was an incredibly moment for me and my team,” Garza said.
Garza plans to continue playing baseball at the college level at the University of the Incarnate Word.
“I am very excited about playing in college,” Garza said. “I am excited to see how my future turns out, but I am nervous because I will be far away from home and my friends”
Garza also has a hidden talent and I deep love for chocolate milk.
“My dad is a singer, so he also taught me how to play the piano, Garza said. “I am very good at the piano. I play it almost every day. I also really love chocolate milk; it is just so good.”
Garza encourages everyone to try out for the team and follow your dreams.
“Never be satisfied! There is always a way to better your game no matter how good you are,” Garza said.
