Senior varsity volleyball player Jazzy Florez feels hitting outside and getting a good kill is her favorite part of the game. Florez has been playing volleyball for 7 years now. Volleyball has been in her family for generations.

“Well it’s always been in the family, like my mom played, my grandma played,” said Florez. ”I just decided to try and it’s been lit ever since.”

Florez enjoys meeting and playing with new and former teammates.

“Getting to play and bond with all your friends,” says Florez.” you get to meet new people that love the sport as much as you do.”

A few things Florez has learned from playing volleyball all these years are to stay positive, work hard in all you do, and not letting the other team bring you down.

“You always got to work hard in everything you do like being consistent,” says Florez. ”Not letting the other team get in your head and stay positive no matter what.”

Florez gets out on the court hyped for the game and ready to represent her school.

“Excited getting to play with my team,” said Florez,” rep CU.”

Florez plans on enjoying her last year in high school with friends and being a role model for underclassmen. She plans on going to college and focusing on her education.

“Mainly just have fun and enjoy the last year with the other seniors, and just be a good role model for the underclassmen,” Florez said. ”I just plan to go to college and just focus on school.”

With volleyball being in all of Florez’s life, she plans on putting her education first and be successful in life.
